The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) is a non-profit, non-political, volunteer service organization with a mission to promote historic preservation, education, and patriotism.

The Mary Quisenberry Chapter, NSDAR, was organized on June 3, 1931, and named Mary Quisenberry, the grandmother of our first regent. Mary Quisenberry, was the granddaughter of Rev. James Quisenberry, a soldier in the Revolutionary War. The southeastern Oklahoma city of Durant, nicknamed the "City of Magnolias," is located near beautiful Lake Texoma and historic Fort Washita. Durant is the headquarters of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, as well as home to Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Featuring many historic articles and exhibits, Durant is the perfect site to promote historic preservation, education, and patriotism while serving God, Home, and Country! |
Our chapter meets monthly January through June and September through December. Programs are planned to cover a wide range of interests. Contact us to learn more about our chapter.
DAR members come from a variety of backgrounds and interests, but all share a common bond of having a Patriot ancestor who helped contribute to securing the independence of the United States of America. Any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a Patriot of the American Revolution is eligible to join.
